The ultimate tourer

Titanium's natural damping takes the ache out of long days on B, C and D roads. It's near indestructibility makes it perfect for heavy load bearing duties. That would be enough, but recall that it's impervious to corrosion and you start to see how the magic metal got its nickname and why it's a tourer's best friend.

We don't do standard sizing for touring bikes because we've found that the needs of touring riders vary widely according to preferences for load systems, ride position, type of expedition and specialised cockpits. Our general approach to fitting touring bikes is to relax the seat tube angle and lengthen the chainstays to increase pannier clearance. A lower bottom bracket increases stability so you can descend without without missing the view while taller head tubes unload the shoulders and neck for comfort during the longest traipse. We favour a longer front-centre for stability, and the extra room that allows for an extra biddon mount.

Our tourers are built with the same attention to individual needs as our racing bikes. The tubes are smaller diameter and thicker-walled to favour load carrying capability and increase durability, but they arrive at our door drawn from the same CWSR Grade 9 certified raw material as all our titanium. We keep an understated, traditional finish because a bike that draws attention to itself can be a liability on the expedition trail.
